Pulse 2 Pairing Troubleshooting [iOS and Android]

Troubleshooting Pulse 2 Hub Pairing to Your Wi-Fi




On occasion, you may encounter an issue pairing the Automate Pulse 2 Hub to your Wi-Fi network. This article will help you in those scenarios.
AlertThe Pulse 2 hub can only connect to a 2.4GHz network
Warning
The Pulse 2 Hub CANNOT connect to a 5GHz Network
There are 3 common Wi-Fi setups noted below:
1) Separate Networks:
Turn OFF Autojoin to the 5ghz network and 'Forget' that network. Connect to the 2.4GHz network

2) Dual-band Network:
A dual-band network means the 2.4GHz network and 5GHz are combine into one. Ensure you are NOT on the Guest network.


3) Mesh Network
Mesh network means you have central router with Wireless Access Points (WAPs) around the home. 
Often times there are no issues. On occasion, it is required to deactivate all WAPs but the main router during the Pulse 2 pairing process

Idea
For Mesh networks, you can often control the 2.4GHz/5GHz capabilities in the router app for your system and potentially disable access points if necessary.

  3. Netgear Orbi
  4. Netgear Orbi Wi-Fi 6
  5. Netgear Nighthawk MK63
  6. Netgear Orbi AC1200
  7. TP-Link Deco M5
  8. Ubiquiti Amplifi HD
  9. Linksys Velop
4) Ethernet Pairing
